COVID-19--INDIVIDUAL TAX INFORMATION UPDATE

First, I hope this finds you safe and in good health.  The current events surrounding the Covid-19 outbreak in the United States has resulted in important changes I want to inform you of.

v The Internal Revenue Service has announced that the federal income tax filing due date is automatically extended from April 15, 2020, to July 15, 2020. Taxpayers can also defer federal income tax payments due on April 15, 2020, to July 15, 2020, without penalties and interest, regardless of the amount owed. (Restrictions apply)

v Oregon Department of Revenue automatically extended the April 15, 2020 tax filing deadline to July 15, 2020.  Taxpayers can also defer Oregon income tax payments due on April 15, 2020 to July 15, 2020, without penalties and interest.  (Restrictions apply)

v Federal 2020 estimated tax payments due on April 15, 2020 are extended to July 15, 2020.  Federal estimated payments due on June 15, 2020 are not extended at this time.

v Oregon 2020 estimated tax payments are not extended at this time.

*This information applies to 2019 calendar year applicable business and individual returns only at this time. 


If we have already filed your taxes refunds are still being processed.  Any 2019 payment is due on or before July 15, 2020.
